  Overview

Whether you’re in search of sightseeing cruises, transportation ferries, or charter boats, San Diego offers a wide variety of water travel suitable for any price range.

The San Diego-Coronado ferry is the most efficient means of getting to and from the downtown harbor and the “island” of Coronado. It carries passengers and bicycles from the Broadway Pier to the Ferry Landing Marketplace for just $2 each way ($2.50 if you’ve got a bike with you).

San Diego’s Harbor Excursions, located along the Embarcadero, operates a commuter ferry from the Broadway Pier to both the Ferry Landing Marketplace and North Island. An on-call water-taxi service throughout the San Diego Bay is also available.

Along the Embarcadero you will find a swath of sightseeing cruises, some offering dinner and entertainment, others just a relaxing ride. The B Street Pier is another port-of-call for a variety of cruise ships. Don’t forget that whale-watching cruises are offered during the winter months at Point Loma.

There are a number of ways to find more information on these excursions once you’re in town; check for brochures at your hotel, ask your hotel concierge or front desk, check local newspapers and magazines for adds and information or simply visit companies at the harbor nearest you.
