Overview
Founded in 1947 by three famous actors who missed the 'live stage' in Los Angeles, Gregory Peck, Dorothy McGuire and Mel Ferrer, this theater treasure won the Tony Award for outstanding regional theater in 1993. Located on the campus of the University of California, San Diego and part of the Mandell Weiss Center for the Performing Arts, the La Jolla Playhouse produces six to eight new and classic plays and musical throughout the year.
